I Don't Choose Colours. I Choose Relationships.
I was staring at a blue I loved.
Deep, confident. Almost electric.
I placed it next to a green.
It went quiet.
I moved it next to an orange.
It came alive.
Same blue. Completely different story.
That was the moment everything shifted.
I stopped choosing colours.
I started choosing relationships.
A colour only exists in relation to another
it strengthens, softens, reveals itself.
Or disappears entirely.
I know colour theory.
I've studied it.
But I chose not to let it lead.
Not out of ignorance. Out of intention.
So my process became something else.
I test. I adjust. I observe.
I remove, bring closer, shift.
Until the colours start to play together.
And then something happens
it's no longer a palette.
It's a living system.
This is the dialogue I seek in every MOOKAITE creation.
No colour stands alone.
Each one finds its place through the others.
